How do i get started with my Blackberry®?

How do i set up my Blackberry® email?

You need to create an account to begin sending and receiving email on your BlackBerry device. Please turn on your device and ensure that it is connected to the wireless network. Please click the following link Then click "Create New Account" to begin http://www.mobileemail.vodafone.net/

Am i charged for 'New Mail' alerts on my Blackberry®?

There is no charge for the mail alerts, but each time a new email is pushed to your phone it will be using data.

If you have a Mobile Internet and email pack, the data will be taken from that, but if you pay per MB then you will pay for the size of the email.

I deleted an email from my Blackberry® phone; will it delete when i log in from my PC?

This will depend on the settings you have chosen. BlackBerry can be set to delete email from the phone only or from the phone and your email provider's server.

To set it to delete from both your phone and the server- go to the email Inbox, press the Blackberry (menu) key select Options select Email reconciliation go to Delete on: set to Mailbox and Handheld. This will now delete emails from the server when they are deleted from the BlackBerry handheld.

How do i turn 'new mail' alerts on and off on my Blackberry® phone?

Alerts can be turned on or off on the phone.

With Blackberry® email, can i send or read email attachments from my phone? 

This will depend on the model of phone you have.

Which email providers does Blackberry® support?

BlackBerry Internet Solution (BIS)
is compatible with most POP3 or IMAP4 email service e.g. BT Internet, Yahoo!, Googlemail.

You can check the options your email provider offers to help you decide which is best for you.

BlackBerry Internet Solution (BIS)

BlackBerry Professional Software(BPS) and BlackBerry Enterprise Solution(BES) are compatible with Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Domino servers. BlackBerry Enterprise Solution is also compatible with Novell GroupWise.

What's the difference between email and web email?

BlackBerry is a fully mobile email solution offering instant access to your email because it is pushed to your mailbox.

Web email is an email service, only available when you choose to collect it.

Will my Blackberry® work if i put my SIM card in another phone?

No, each Blackberry phone has a unique PIN number, which must be linked to your email account, without this link the email will not transfer to the phone.

I have two email accounts can i view both of them on my Blackberry®?

BlackBerry Internet Solution can be set to receive up to 10 email accounts.

Business
BlackBerry Internet Solution can be set to receive up to 10 email accounts.

BlackBerry Professional Software and BlackBerry Enterprise Solution will only let you access your company email account.

Can i use Blackberry® handsets abroad?

Blackberrys can be used anywhere in the world where there is compatible network coverage. However, you will be charged for data use outside the UK. We have full details so call us on 01264 336644 for specific information. There is the option to disable the data feature while still enabling the device to make and receive voice calls.

What is the Blackberry® Internet Solution?

BlackBerry Internet Solution is a service that lets you access your emails when you're away from your PC
